With low airfares and high youth unemployment/poverty in places with nice beaches, sex tourism is not inevitable but likely. On a darker note, a 2006 UNICEF report stated that up to 15,000 underage girls (12 to 18 years old) in Kenya's coastal provinces trade casual sex for tourist cash with some regularity.
