Sex tourism on the Kenyan coast

With low airfares and high youth unemployment/poverty in places with nice beaches, sex tourism is not inevitable but likely.

On a darker note, a 2006 UNICEF report stated that up to 15,000 underage girls (12 to 18 years old) in Kenya's coastal provinces trade casual sex for tourist cash with some regularity. Meanwhile, Senegal, like the Caribbean, can testify to the welcome growth in gender equality in the west. A town called Saly, on the Atlantic coast, is the country's epicentre for female sex tourism.

The balance of power between a prostitute and his/her customer is already uneven; this takes it to ridiculous levels.
