This Is Africa

Konfab's journey through hip hop started in Maseru, Lesotho, in the early ‘90s when the relatively new art form was thriving in the small town. He entered a rapping competition in school and won, leading to an invitation  to join a prominent local hip hop movement called Black Mentality. After being forced to attend boarding school in Johannesburg, Konfab graduated as a Civil Engineer and relocated to Cape Town.
In Cape Town Konfab affiliated with the crews Blkmst Fxn and Writers Block, as well as pushing solo projects under the Pioneer Unit banner. In 2008 his hard work came together in a debut album called ‘Swart Gevaar'.
