Kojo Antwi grew up in a suburb of Accra called Darkuman in a family with 13 siblings. He started his musical career as a singer in various bands, including Boom Talents and later on in the group Classique Handles (later renamed Classique Vibes). In the late 1980’s he started his solo career and has gone on to become a very visible artist in West Africa. His solo album 'All I need is you' was a hit in Ghana and he released over a dozen of albums since. He has toured internationally with his band and as a solo artist and was nominated for African Musician of the year 1996 in South Africa.
