Esau Mwamwaya is a Malawian singer based in the UK. Together with dj/producers collective Radioclit he forms the band The Very Best.

He started out in music while living in Lilongwe (Malawi), playing drums in a number of bands. From 1999 he has been based in London, where he worked as a store owner when he met with Radioclit producer Etienne Tron. From the friendship that developed he joined the duo to start The Very Best, releasing a mixtape in 2008 which merged Radioclit's African inspired beats with Esau's singing in his mother tongue Chichewa. The mixtape, which received a lot of attention through its web based distribution, was followed by a full album release in 2009. 'Warm Heart of Africa' features a collaboration with singer M.I.A. and Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig.
