Dede Mabiaku

Dede Mabiaku is an artist of Nigerian descent, and musically active in the afrobeat, highlife & jazz scene. A protégé of Fela Kuti, Dede Mabiaku learnt at the feet of the master himself.

For more than 10 years, he was an integral part of Fela Kuti’s daily life and his band Egypt 80. Dede opened all Fela's local & international shows, performing on vocals and playing the saxophone. Nowadays Dede performs with his own band, the Underground African Sounds, a 25 piece African Orchestra.

Besides being musically active, Dede Mabiaku also devotes time to his acting career and judging briefs on music reality television shows.
