AURA (Artistes Unis pour le Rap Africain)

AURA (Artistes Unis pour le Rap Africain) is a project combining talents from ten different countries in francophone Africa. Initiated by development organization PLAN international, the collective is at the center of a public awareness campaign on children's rights and youth issues. Their first release as a collective, the album 'The Extraordinary Stories of the Poto-Poto Children', came out in 2007 and a tour promoting the album took them through West Africa and Europe.
The artists participating in AURA are Moona (Benin), Smockey and Smarty (Burkina Faso), Egalitarian (Gambia), Moussa (Guinea), Priss-K (Ivory Coast), JoDama (Mali), Waraba (Mauritania), Pheno B and Safia (Niger), Didier Awadi, Xuman, Miriam, Baay Sooley and Big D (Senegal) and Bobby (Togo).
