Ashimba is a Tanzanian singer-songwriter and guitarist based in Bagamoyo / Dar es Salaam. He released his debut album “Nuru Nyikani” (produced by Jakob Poll) in January 2009. His style is a combination of East African traditional music, with elements of modern Afro pop, electronic and acoustic music. The use of different Tanzanian languages in his lyrics, that mainly talk about life as a young man, Tanzanian tradition, the problems of Tanzania and family or women loved or lost, make his music attractive to a large audience.

Ashimba has been working with several international artists and has been touring Europe in 2009.
