Based in Jo'burg, originating from Durban and strongly influenced by South African Kwaito as well as the Zulu language and culture, Dirty Paraffin has developed a new musical category within the electro and dubstep league. Their sources of inspiration include Tkzee and The Cool Kids. The group has been positioned as a "visual/performance art outfit of Mzansi", blending new sounds together with videos styled by themselves.

Releases have been few yet and include 'Exhibit A'. Okmalumkoolkat released 'Boomslang' with LV.
Dirty Paraffin have been part of the Nike Pitch Perfect collabo.
