Bkay & Kazz

The brothers Bkay & Kazz were born in Malawi and grew up in Masvingo, Zimbabwe. Sons of a half-Pakistan and half African father and a mother who is half Malay and half Gowanese, they grew up with influences from many cultures. Their music is a fusion of soul, reggae, R&B and dancehall. Bkay & Kazz became known when they released the single ‘Ndikati Hello’ of the album 'In the Beginning'  in Southern Africa. This track went straight to number one on ZBC TV in Zimbabwe, and played on South Africa’s Channel O.

In 2007 B-Kay & Kazz won the national talent show Live & Unsigned in the UK. Before officially releasing their single ‘You Know its Right’ right after the show, the track became number one in the pre-downloading charts. The brothers released their second album ‘Boomslang’ (2009) with the singles ‘7 Wonders’, ‘Amina Kadeya’ and ‘Wynd With Me’. The title of the album also became the name of their company, which is a music production, sound engineering, video production and marketing company. The company aims to encourage talented singers and dancers towards their goals. In 2010, Bkay & Kazz participated in prime time television show Model WG, with the making of Carlprit’s new single ‘See You At The Top’, which became a hit in the UK as well as in Southern Africa.
