Beautiful Beginnings, her first collection which was launched in summer 2011 at Cameroon’s Independence celebration, is a combination of African wax and European styles, sometimes referred to as Afro chic. Less than a year from the exposure of that collection, this Dutch based International Business graduate has won the Dutch Music & Fashion Battle in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and her collection is about to be launched in Paris, France. The process of starting and stopping the camera, then moving the subject (a doll or another object) a few millimeters to produce the next frame is quite labour intensive. Bring in 'Rain on my lips', the new video by Burundi born emcee/poet Pepe Haze and singer Steph McKee. Pepe Haze has become a bit of a celebrity in Kenya recently through his acting in the MTV Shuga tv series about the dangerous lifestyles of urban youth in Nairobi, but he's been very active on the Nairobi music & poetry scene in the past few years.

Satyrical programming is not a common thing in Africa per se. Still a successful series - the XYZ Show - has been running on Kenya TV station Citizen for over 2 years, featuring a format just like the British Spitting Image, but now for African politicians.
Godfrey Mwampembwa, popularly known as GADO, the series' founding father , has been credited all over the world for his cartoon series, publishing them in many news papers across East and Central Africa, also in Le Monde, The Guardian and Japan Times.

The results of his XYZ show are astonishing, moreover the craftsmanship as a renowned artist. GADO is proving himself an international performer with a great talent in ironically portraying African political leaders.

So we particularly dig the ones from Kayobi Clothing, stylish, modern and with a nice balance of fun, humour and social-consciousness. Make Fufu Not War! Perfect. Our favourite, with "The real weapons of mass destruction" a close second. (More after the break)
