 This Is Africa wants YOU Are you in plugged into your country's contemporary urban music scene, in touch with the cutting edge of street fashion, style, graphic design, dance, or generally the first to know about the coolest things happening in your city? Just as important, can you tell a story in striking images (moving or static)? If so, and if you're based in an African city, This Is Africa wants to hear from you. Share WHAT WE DO This Is Africa exists to show a side of Africa that's different to that normally presented in mainstream Western media: funky, creative, culturally-aware, globally-connected, youth-oriented urban Africa rather than the poverty-ridden, slum-filled, helpless and economically-dependent Africa. WHAT TO DO Pictures speak louder than words, so if you have a good "eye" and can create arresting video clips or captioned photo-essays that will surprise, entertain and inform youngsters from New York to London, we need to hear from you.
