With the world’s highest HIV infection rates, the country has to deal with these snake oil salesmen, too!

HIV/AIDS and South Africa

After a decade of governmental denial, South African's new health minister has promised a dramatic increase in treatment for AIDS victims.
However, the roll-out of anti-retroviral drugs to all those who need them is slow, leaving many desperate to try anything, especially poorer infected individuals.
The prevalence of HIV in South Africa appears to have stabilised, but the country still has the world's largest HIV+ population.
Nonetheless, 10.9% of all South Africans over 2 years old were living with HIV in 2008
