Baloji enchants Brooklyn, live on MYV Iggy

Baloji - MTV 3

We're far from being alone in our admiration of Baloji, the most innovative of DR Congo's current crop of musicians, mixing hip-hop, soul, afro-jazz and rumba to create one heady gumbo.

He recently gave his Brooklyn fans an intimate performance and MTV Iggy (MTV's new joint, aka “the place to discover emerging trends from around the globe”) was there to capture the whole thing and show why the dude is not your usual emcee.

He also sat down to talk about how he synthesizes his various influences, what inspires him, and about what makes DR Congo special.

Check MTV Iggy for more from Baloji's Brooklyn set.
