"Only Your Walkings": The FOKN Bois are just FOKN Wit Ewe

Another dose of serious fun from Ghanaian duo FOKN Bois (Wanlov the Kubolor and M3NSA), with afro-beats by Richy Pitch.

The video was actually just a test shot for Coz Ov Moni (the world's first pidgin musical), yet even in its playfulness (which you expect from the duo anyway) and its rough 'n' readiness, it feels more substantial than many "finished" music videos.

It was shot by the same director, King Luu (who also shot that lovely video for Tema freestyler Yaa Pono), and features a cameo by Teiko Tagoe, formerly Teiko Dornor, a known plus size model.

And here's a lesson to budding songwriters out there: Wanlov tell us the song came about because they hadn't written anything to go with the beats Richy had given them days before, so they were heading into the studio with no material and decided to rap about the situation they were in. Everything is material, even the search for material.

Unfortunately it's too late for Only Your Walkings to appear on the Coz Ov Moni soundtrack, which will be available on iTunes next week, but there's a slim, slim chance that it might make it onto the album that drops soon after that: Yes, folks, the FOKN Bois will be FOKN Wit Ewe on the best day for FOKN this year. FOKN Wit Ewe, the new album (which includes the "notorious" track Thank God We're Not A Nigerians) hits iTunes on Valentine's Day.

If you're in Ghana in February, make sure you catch one of their live shows, coz they'll be touring with Sena and Elo of Irie Maffia. If you're in the States or Europe, don't despair: They've got some gigs lined up your way, including SXSW on March 10th, then Cologne on March 16th, Copenhagen on March 23rd and Stockholm the day after.

M3NSA's also touring the UK with Nneka in April, and Wanlov and his Afrogypsy band will be playing his second home country Romania in August. It's a FOKN year for the Bois.
