Ghanaian-Austrian singer Anbuley continues to draw inspiration from both sides of her identity - she was "born into European club music", moved to Ghana where she immersed herself in the music her parents played while she was growing up, before moving back to Europe to start drawing the two musical worlds together.
Oleee is her third EP, and here she fuses energetic electronic sounds and clubby basslines with rhythms inspired by Kwaito and Kuduro, and lyrics, as always, are in Ga.
The title track deals with the relief and the positive energy, after being unhappily in love, to accept, finish and start a new life. Tokota is about one of Anbuley's big passions: high heels. The chorus line imitates the sound of heels hitting the floor while dancing. S3k3 describes how everyone has his crazy moments in life and reminds us to be patient with others who we think are crazy.
Oleee EP is available as a digital download at Bandcamp, Juno and Amazon, but you can DOWNLOAD THE TITLE TRACK FOR FREE at Soundcloud.
Enjoy, and give Anbuley a holla on Facebook.
