Produced by DJ 'Frei of the Ahficionados and dubbed the "The Soundtrack of The New African Renaissance", it takes you on a journey across the continent, starting out in South Africa and passing through Ghana (once you hear the way Hugh Masekela's Stimela flows into Blitz's flow you'll be hooked), Zambia, the Congo, Ethiopia and several other great countries, 12 in total.
This is about more than great music and cross-fades, though; it's about sharing an alternative view of Africa, highlighting the continents beauty and celebrating the creative thinkers responsible for the renaissance now taking place.
AFRIKA21 Mixtape vol. 2 is part of a series of mixtapes Society HAE releases periodically in conjunction with the AFRIKA21 initiative. The goal of AFRIKA21 is to use digital media and events as tools to re-frame how Africa is perceived and provide the public with a 21st century contemporary look at Africa through the lens of arts & culture.
