The second video in Mama Hope's "Stop the Pity. Unlock the Potential" campaign.

People everywhere have talent and capacity, and people everywhere share a desire to use those gifts to improve their lives and the lives of the people they care about. We all share these things, but the consequence of a lot of reporting on Africa is to make people all over the world believe Africans have a different mindset or are somehow "different" from other people.

This de-humanises Africans and reduces the continent to a place that is about nothing but poverty, war and suffering.

Mama Hope, a US-based non-profit organisation, has a very practical mission (to do with sharing the world's resources more equitably), but they believe the first step in changing the world is changing our perception of each other, i.e. helping everyone to see what connects us all and makes us similar, and focusing on potential rather than poverty or what people in one place lack. Shattering stereotypes paves the way for practical action.    

This second video is nice enough, but their first, featuring Alex, a young Tanzanian Arnie fan, is gonna take some beating.
